Phoenix Oilby ~Damalia

This is a little oil painting on illustration board that I orignally made for my boyfriend, who's favorite animal is a phoenix. I really like how it turned out, though. I used a technique similar to the one used by Frank Frazetta, if anyone knows of him. The blends in the background and the brilliance of the colors are especially nice, I think. I only wish I had sanded the gesso a bit better.
