Penguin Escape Sequence

This was an illustration project early last semester. We were suppossed to create a series of small color studies depicting an escape scene where the eye is lead through the story with color ques. I choose a storyline with King penguins and Orcas off the coast of Southern Africa. Each panel is roughly 6x4", acrylic on individual boards.

This project was frustrating in that when I brought it into class, my class didn't follow the story because 1) They didn't know orcas ate penguins, and 2) They didn't know orcas beached themselves as a hunting technique. They thought something was wrong and the orca was hurt. *sigh* I feel like an alien sometimes, I tell ya.
