School project again--I'll just try to upload a few at a time. This might be my favorite piece from this year....well, at least it was the most fun for me. I ended up starting it about a day and a half before it was due, which was stupid, yes, but I got it done. So there. My take on the often-illustrated Aztec Jaguar-Warrior. He's got a couple different species of toucan in there with him, because I like toucans. It kills me that I had to piece this together in photoshop from several photographs, because the original is just a gem.

Incredible work, the blue of the background compliments the subject perfectly. The detail you put in your paintings never ceases to amaze me. :)

I love how the cooler background sets off the warm colors of the warrior, as well as how the pheasant headdress and gold accents him. It really adds to the exotic feel.

Jem is right. Jeez! I think my favorite part is the lighting on the mossy tree. Its beautiful! And I love the toucans...they're a really nice touch. And the jaguar is just gorgeous.
